
EBC excellence reaps awards
EBC was again recognised for its commitment to equal opportunities when its was a finalist in the North East Equality Awards organised by Equality North East - this time in the Work Life Balance Achievement category for employers with under 50 staff.
This is the third time EBC has reach the final stages in these prestigious awards and the winners and EBC's Chief Executive was at the glittering awards ceremony in Gateshead's Hilton Hotel to receive EBC's Certificate of Commendation.

EBC has now gained its first national quality award with the securing of IS0 9001 certification.
Securing ISO 9001 registered firm status means EBC joins just 3 per cent of UK businesses who have earned the right to hold the internationally recognised award for quality.
ISO 9001 is an international benchmark for quality and is recognised worldwide. The prestigious award puts EBC at the forefront of quality service and customer care.
The award complements another recognition of quality that EBC has held for several years - the TWEBLO quality award - for its delivery of work related learning activities across Tyne and Wear.
EBC activities across the region have been recognised in a number of prestigious awards - acknowledging the excellence of our work.

In 2008 EBC was a finalist in the small training provider category of the
EBC's Chief Executive Barbara McClennan - pictured left - was also a finalist in the Individuals Who Have Made a Difference category.

In 2008 EBC was the runner up in the Best Voluntary Sector Website category of the first ever North East Digital Awards, sponsored by One NorthEast.
In 2007 EBC's Chief Executive, Barbara McClennan, was a finalist in the prestigous North East Social Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, organised by the Community Foundation and sponsored by leading law firm Ward Hadaway.

In 2007 EBC was a finalist in in the small employer category of the North East Equality Awards organised by Equality North East.

In 2006 EBC won the Ambassador of the Year Award category at the ONE NorthEast sponsored Regional Tourism Awards for our Exploring Tourism programme. This saw young people from the region promoting North East tourism to an audience of Dutch tourism experts. The previous year EBC was a finalist in the Best Tourism Innovation category of the same awards for its innovative Work, Rest, Stay and Play programme.

In 2004 EBC was a finalist in the Small Business Award category of the Sunderland Echo's Portfolio Business Awards. The awards were sponsored by One NorthEast.
