Julie has joined EBC to lead on the delivery of its latest programme - Essential Steps to Employability - funded through the Working Neighbourhoods Fund. She brings more than 12 years experience of working in the third sector to encourage and develop people in a number of learning environments.
She joins EBC after working as Centre Manager with Plains Farm and Humbledon Community Initiative. Her mentoring and support skills for local people can be evidenced in the success of two of her learners who, having being guided by Julie, are now studying for teaching qualifications with the City of Sunderland College, with a view to them becoming community tutors themselves.
Previously Julie spent more than 10 years working in various roles with the groundbreaking Bridge Women's Education Project in Washington. This included ICT co-ordination, tutoring, course development and administration.
Julie has successfully delivered a huge array of courses and training programmes in the community including Pathways to Teaching and Learning, Train the Trainer, Accountancy, Sage Payroll, Job Search and CV Skills as well as supporting learners developing their skills through UK Online.
