EBC's Make it Work Programme
Welcome to the special Make it Work The Sunderland Way page of our website.
The programme was created to help people develop new skills and be better prepared to get back into work.
Bridging the Gap Through Technology
EBC's has been one of the key partners in Make it Work The Sunderland Way programme, which has been managed by Sunderland City Council.
EBC developed an innovative and exciting range of activities called Bridging the Gap Through Technology designed to develop key employability and ICT skills and to bring people currently unemployed together with employers.
All activities were designed to fun as well as educational. You can see some of candidates in action by viewing our special photo album. Click here.
See for yourself some of the work produced by those who have taken part in our first programmes, held in Washington Arts Centre, Gates at Grindon, and South Hylton Tansy Centre by clicking the links below:
View some of our participants DVD CVs by clicking the links below (you will need Windows Media Player to enjoy their work).
Several of the people who enjoyed the training also created their own CD covers to go with their DVD CVs. Take a look at their work by clicking the links below.
We worked closely with staff at various Jobcentre Plus teams throughout the city to identify people who could benefit from this new programme. To take part they needed to be:
- Living in Sunderland
- Aged 50 or over
- Registered as unemployed
