Positive Play Activities Resource Bank

Child skipping

EBC was commissioned to create this resource bank as part of the work it delivered under a community development contract with Sunderland City Council focussing upon supporting organisations who were providing Positive Play Activities across the city.

This page is a one-stop-shop of advice, information and guidance for all groups, particularly small grassroots organisations which are working with children and young people and which are looking for help in growing or becoming more sustainable.  The resources will help you:

  • Plan for the future
  • Complete funding applications
  • Increase your success in fundraising
  • Understand what funders are looking for
  • Get to grips with budget and business planning
  • Get the most out of your Trustees

All the resources are free to download - but are subject to copyright.  This means you can only use them to benefit your individual organisation and you must not use them for any commercial benefit other than supporting your organisation's sustainable development.

We would ask that if you use these resources you acknowledge such use by referring to EBC's website as your source with the following words:

We'd also like to here from you if you found them useful.  Just email us at: info@ebcltd.org.uk or visit our Contacts Page.

Carol MeredithOur Key Partner in Positive Play

To deliver the contract EBC called on the expertise of one of our key partners, Carol Meredith

Carol's knowledge of the not-for-profit sector is extensive and draws on her experience of working with communities across the North East to evaluate projects. The experience of assessing a diversity of charitable organisations enables her to quickly assimilate the issues that affect community-based services.

Carol's role as a trustee of two regional charities brings direct experience of governance, whilst her grantmaking background, including representation at national level for the Big Lottery Fund, brings an assessor's perspective to her work.  She is an expert in:

  • Appraisals and evaluations of regeneration work
  • Impact assessments
  • Infrastructure development work
  • Feasibility studies
  • Organisational health checks
  • Business planning and fundraising
